Providing us personal information

In accordance with the New Zealand privacy act of 1993, where we collect personal information directly from an individual, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the individual concerned is aware of:

  • The fact that the information is being collected
  • The purpose for which the information is being collected
  • The intended recipients of the information
  • The agency that is collecting the information
  • The agency that will hold the information
  • Whether or not the supply of the information is voluntary or mandatory
  • The consequences (if any) for that individual if the information is not provided

Any information you provide to us will:

  • Be assumed to have come from an individual
  • Will not be used in a form in which the individual concerned is identified publicly without prior consent

You are entitled to request access to any of your personal information we hold, and you may request that we correct that information. Access is defined as:

  • Giving a reasonable opportunity to look at a document, or listen to or view a recording
  • Giving a copy of a document
  • Giving a summary of the information
  • Providing a transcript
  • Giving the information orally

We will ensure that the information we hold is protected by security safeguards (as is reasonable in the circumstances) against loss, access, use, modification or disclosure by any unauthorised individual or organisation. Where it is necessary for the information to be given to a person in connection with the provision of a service, everything reasonable within our power is done to prevent unauthorised disclosure.

We will not collect any information in a manner that is unlawful, or in the particular circumstance is unfair or intrudes to an unreasonable extent upon the personal affairs of the individual concerned.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our website to track your actions, to help us optimise our site for conversions and usability. While we can see data gathered over a timeframe, we do not collect personally identifying information from any source as part of the terms of service of Google Analytics.

A condition of our use of Google analytics is that we make reasonable endeavors to bring to your attention the following statement:

Google Adwords

We use Google Adwords to advertise our website and services through third party vendors (including Google and DoubleClick) to prospective customers, occasionally using the re-marketing feature to target and advertise to people that may have completed certain actions on our website (tracked through the use of cookies).

Data collected will be used in accordance with the Google privacy policy for Google ads and the Google display network.

If you would like to opt out of interest-based advertising, then you can do so using the Google Advertising Cookie Opt-out Plugin.

Our Email Newsletter

We encourage you to sign up to our email newsletter, it's the easiest way for us to keep in touch with people that are interested in what we do, with that said though, there are some things we need to mention about it.

We use our own email marketing system clickmail to manage our subscriber lists, campaign content and campaign reports. If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter then you can do so in many places on our website, all we ask for is your email address and in some cases your name. In any communication we send through clickmail, you may unsubscribe using a link at the top or bottom of the email.

A third party ensures that all of our subscriber lists, email content and reports remain private and confidential. They may scan the content of our campaigns to ensure they are not defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane or threatening either racially or ethnically. They will not sell, rent, loan or invite external access to our contact lists, nor will they themselves monitor our contact list for any purpose.
